Supporting Growth and Strengthening Leadership: Welcoming Our Acting Co-Operations Leads
At Beyond Limits, we believe that great leadership grows from experience, reflection, learning, and a commitment to supporting others. We are delighted to share that two of our Senior Service Leaders, Val and Georgia, have recently stepped into the new role of Acting Co-Operations Lead.
This development reflects not only their individual journeys within Beyond Limits, but also our ongoing commitment to strengthening leadership across the organisation and ensuring we continue to provide high-quality, person-centred support.
What is an Acting Co-Operations Lead?
The Acting Co-Operations Lead role focuses on supporting and developing our Service Leader team while helping shape the wider direction of the organisation.
Rather than leading individual services on a day-to-day basis, Val and Georgia will spend more time mentoring Service Leaders, helping them problem-solve, sharing their experience, and supporting their professional development. The role also includes a broader strategic focus, working closely with Director Rebecca and the wider leadership team to help guide the organisation’s future while ensuring we remain true to our values.
By creating this additional layer of leadership support, we can continue to strengthen our teams, develop future leaders, and maintain the high standards of support that people and families expect from Beyond Limits.
Val’s Journey
Val’s journey with Beyond Limits began in 2014 when she joined as a Casual Support Worker, initially looking to gain some experience. It wasn’t long before she realised how special the organisation was and how much she valued being part of the team.
Over the years, Val has grown alongside Beyond Limits, developing both personally and professionally while building strong relationships with colleagues and the people we support.
Reflecting on her new role, Val said:
“I am really pleased to be stepping into an Acting Co-Operations Lead role. It feels like a meaningful next step in my journey here and one I am approaching with both excitement and appreciation.”
Val is looking forward to working more closely with the Service Leader team, sharing her experience and helping others grow in their roles. She is also excited about becoming more involved in the wider strategic direction of Beyond Limits and contributing to how the organisation continues to develop in the years ahead.
“Looking ahead, my aspiration is to keep learning and to play a positive role in supporting our teams and strengthening what we do together. I feel really grateful for this opportunity and for everyone who has been part of my journey so far.”
Georgia’s Journey
Georgia’s journey to this new role spans more than 11 years and has been shaped by continuous learning, self-reflection, and personal growth.
She describes the journey as one that required her to challenge herself, embrace change, and develop new perspectives. While not always easy, those experiences helped her build confidence, resilience, and emotional intelligence.
Reflecting on her development, Georgia said:
“It was a journey to get here, which started just over 11 years ago, a journey which involved self-reflection, willingness to develop and see things from a different perspective than I was used to.”
Georgia credits Beyond Limits with providing opportunities that have helped her grow not only as a leader but also as a person.
In her new role, she is looking forward to learning more about the organisation as a whole, supporting Rebecca as Director, and playing a central role in the development of others.
“I want to be part of the ongoing development of others and play a more central role in us continuing to do what we do best, supporting people well.”
Looking Ahead
The appointments of Val and Georgia represent an exciting step forward for Beyond Limits. Both bring a wealth of experience, a deep understanding of our values, and a genuine passion for supporting people and teams to thrive.
As Acting Co-Operations Leads, they will help strengthen leadership across the organisation, support the development of our Service Leader team, and contribute to the strategic direction of Beyond Limits as we continue to grow and evolve.
We would like to congratulate both Val and Georgia on their new roles and thank them for their continued dedication, leadership, and commitment to making a positive difference.
